Beverly Community Access Media

BevCam developed their first website in 2005 using Joomla, an open source platform. Through the years, Joomla had upgraded the software, but being busy with running a cable access studio, BevCam had other things to do and let the updates slide. This is a common problem with Joomla, because it’s no simple matter to upgrade.

When we met with BevCam in 2013, the current Joomla version was 3.04 but they are running the site on 1.5, and the site was loaded with security vulnerabilities and bugs. Rather than upgrade Joomla, which they really didn’t understand anyway, we decided to create a new WordPress based website.

We reviewed a number of excellent templates finally picking a responsive template called Avada. We “re-skinned” the template to match their logo, built out the site structure, optimized all the pages, loaded up various documents, took the site live, then provided training on how to update the website on their own.

See it Live!
