Newsletters

Are you interested in sending out a newsletter via email?

Regardless if you have a static website, or are running with WordPress, we recommend using a professional email marketing service.

Although there are plugins for WordPress that make use of PHP to send the mail, we do not recommend it. Here’s a good article on why.

Professional email marketing services

YMLP

I’ve managed newsletters for two grass roots organizations since 2004 using Your Mailing List Provider (YMLP).

This is definitely the best deal for organizations on a tight budget.

There’s a free plan good for up to 25 email addresses.

Their “Pro”plan starts at $3.75 / month for up to 500 addresses. Pay a little extra for decent reporting tools.

MailChimp

Their platform is very powerful, and it integrates with many content management systems.

If you have fewer than 2,000 subscribers, you can send up to 12,000 emails per month for free!

Plans start at $10 / month for unlimited emails to 500 subscribers, and then $5.00 more per/month for each additional 500 subscribers.

Constant Contact

Constant Contact is known for their excellent customer support, and educational outreach.

They charge by the list size, not by the number of emails sent. Plans start at $20.00 per month for up to 500 contacts.

Connect with people to drive business in new ways, like live events, trackable coupons, online surveys, and more.

There’s one other service worth mentioning that would be good for people who wish to do some serious marketing. AWeber starts at $19.95/month for unlimited email to 500 users.
