My first website building experience was for my 30th high school reunion. Since we had no budget, the decision was made to use Bravenet's free site plan, with the downside of having to tolerate pop-up adds, and ad bars at the top of the page. That account has expired, so I copied all the file here to my server. This was an OK website build by a novice (yours truly) in 2002. The web sure has changed in 10 years.
I found a really nice website for most of our reunion business called ClassReports.org. This is an ad free website which is supported by voluntary member contributions. It has a fantastic database which will allow us to track classmates, create lists, track ticket sales etc. Members can log in, and update their contact information, look up friends and contact them directly, make use of the message forum, and even upload a slide show or video to your personal bio! The best part is that I don't have to do much of anything to keep it running.
